Hello! I'm Velvetwastaken, and you can find me with that username on tumblr, ao3, and most recently, bsky. My bookbinding blog can be found here (it's relevant I swear).Let me level with you: I probably have no business running a zine. I've never participated in one before, not as an organizer or a contributor, and I missed out entirely on the first Ganqing zine back in 2021. I've waited for another one, but I never heard of any being organized for Ganqing and so it's turned into a "fine, I'll do it myself" kind of situation. I understand that makes for a huge red flag. I'm definitely learning as I go. But rest assured, I am committed to seeing this through. I give you my word as a full-grown adult with a full-time job that I have the means to deliver a product even if everything else falls apart.Currently, the team is just me, but I have plenty of support and resources at my disposal. That all said, I understand if this makes people want to sit this one out. It's okay, don't worry. If everything goes alright, I plan to do more projects like this in the future!

about the zine

This is going to be a 'vision first' zine. I have a very specific idea for what I want to make, and I really do mean make: these will be hand bound zines, done in a variation of a traditional stab binding. The dimension will be approximately 8" x 7" with the usable interior page being closer to 8" x 6".I did make a mock-up zine, a sort of proof-of-concept, so you can see what I'm going for in terms of construction and basic format.

Because of the labour-intensive nature of this project, it is expected that physical copies will be limited. However, depending on the results of the Interest Check, other options for acquiring a physical copy may be made available, and there is the possibility of a second print later on.Content will, of course, be focused on Ganyu and Keqing, their relationship and lives together. Beyond that the theme is open and will be left up to the contributors to decide how they wish to portray Ganqing.This zine will be generally SFW, but suggestive material will be permitted, just not anything graphically explicit. Call it a T rating, or maybe NC-17.Contributors will be a mix of invites and applications for both writers and artists. Exact numbers of each will depend on the results of the Interest Check.This is going to be a 'break-even' zine, meaning that it will be priced in such a way that all proceeds from any sales will be covering production of the zines, any merch that might be made, and contributor compensation. (I am committed to being transparent about the fiances of this project. Contributors will have access to a spreadsheet outlining cost breakdowns and at the end of the project I will be publishing a version of that for the public.)Contributors will be compensated with a physical copy of the zine (and any merch) with shipping costs fully covered.
